navAero has also developed a communications manager software application that automatically controls the transmit/receive functionality of the navAero 3G UMTS/HSDPA AT&T Approved communications module. Through certified connections to aircraft discretes, the navAero communication manager “switches-on” or “switches-off” the transmit/receive functionality of the module. The selection of discrete connections to engage this automatic “on/off” functionality can be made as per the requirements of the customer (i.e., door open/door closed, weight-on-wheels, etc.) and with the approval of the appropriate regulatory agency. The implementation of this software can be done as a part of any of the navAero FAA and/or EASA Supplemental Type Certificates.
