Webinar Overview

* Please note this On-Demand Webinar is for Airlines and Aircraft Operators only.

Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 12th September 2019) for an excellent chance to see a full overview and demo of the new Cruise Profile Optimizer from AVTECH which provides pilots with vertical flight path optimization in-flight, resulting in significant fuel and time savings per flight. As you will see the solution utilizes existing aircraft hardware and data communications (ACARS, ARINC, FMS, etc.), requiring no new hardware, software or aircraft modifications investment and delivers the key profile data to the pilots in the flight deck via an EFB device or simply via the cockpit printer or display.

During the Webinar the AVTECH experts will walk through the solution’s key features and benefits. You will see how the Cruise Profile Optimizer retrieves real-time flight plan and aircraft performance data (take-off weight, etc), and uses the most accurate and advanced wind and temperature data from the Met Office 10k global weather forecast solution to provide pilots with real-time in-flight step-climb/decent decision support. You will see how the vertical profile can be optimized according to cost index, can be updated at any time during flight and is independent of the distance between waypoints entered into the flight computer. Finally you will see some airline case studies and learn about the fuel and time savings from using the solution.

The Webinar is divided into 4 key sections:

  • Challenges Facing Pilots to Optimize Flight Profiles
The Webinar begins with an overview of the challenges facing pilots today and the limitations in their operational environment both pre-flight and in-flight. Using the limited data from the flight management computer, pilots are unable to recalculate the profile in order to meet cost index, ATC changes to the flight plan, or changes to winds and weather.
  • Advanced Weather Forecasting Data – How it Works
The AVTECH Cruise Flight Profile Optimizer uses Met-Office 10k wind and temperature forecast which represents the most realistic and accurate forecasts available in the industry. As you will see tests have shown that the 10km grid resolution forecast, when compared to aviation standard of 140 km grids, reduces wind and temperature errors by more than 50%.
  • The AVTECH Flight Cruise Profile Optimizer Full Overview and Demo
Next you will be taken on a full overview and demo of the solution, including: real-time aircraft communication, aircraft performance data capture, 10k global weather inputs, easy ground-based deployment and installation and how to optimize flight profile according to cost index. You will see how the pilots can receive the key optimized profile data via an EFB device or simply using the cockpit printer or display.
  • Airline Case Study and Results
Finally, you will see results from an airline case study and learn about the fuel and time savings from using the solution that can be gained per flight. For example, the potential cruise fuel savings are 0.5-3%.

About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:
Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor.  These sessions represent the perfect opportunity to learn about a software solution in a more informal manner and to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of all the major systems on the market, all from the comfort of your own office or home with no sales pressure.

The IT vendor provides a live software demonstration/masterclass of their solution and explains how it can benefit airlines, MROs, Operators, OEMs, Leasing Companies.  Once logged on, online delegates can ask questions via the interactive sections of the Webinar or simply sit back and watch and listen to the demonstration.  There are two sessions during the day, each differently times to accommodate all time zones.

Each Webinar session is recorded, and an On-Demand version is then posted back to the Aircraft IT website a few days after the live session to allow you to view the content again with your colleagues.  The library of On-Demand Webinar recordings provides an invaluable reference source of Flight Ops software demonstrations from the World’s leading Flight Ops IT Vendors.
