Mauritania’s national carrier signs with ADSoftware

ADSoftware, the French aviation dedicated software company, is delighted to announce that Mauritania Airlines International, the national carrier of Mauritania has signed with ADSoftware to implement AIRPACK Fleet Management System and Logistics Solutions comprising AIRTIME (Fleet management – CAMO), AIRSTOCK (Inventory control – Logistic), AIRDOC (Documentation management), AIRUSER (Security management) and AIRSTAT (Reliability and statistic reports).

Mauritania Airlines International, the national airline of Mauritania was established under the laws of Mauritania in 2009 with public funding and has its registered head office and maintenance facility in Nouakchott, Islamic Republic of Mauritania. The airline has already acquired two Boeing 737-500 and one Boeing 737-700 fitted with CFM56 engines CF56-3C1 & CFM56-7B24 series. These reliable and robust aircrafts are most suitable for the area and have been operated successfully before in Mauritania.

The young start-up airline has been created as a sovereign means of air transport for the country to promote air travel within and outside the country. To start operations, the airline has first relied on Mauritanian aviation professionals including trained pilots with FAA licenses and Boeing 737 qualified mechanics. Today plans are being made to develop in house training programs to extend newly recruited human resources competencies.

Since its early stage of development, Mauritania Airlines International has established a Safety and Quality assurance department to oversee operational activities according to national rules and international Civil Aviation Standards. The airline has now recently contracted Sagem for Flight Data Monitoring services and ADSoftware for its Fleet Management System and Logistics Solutions for improving operational efficiency and safety.

AIRPACK Suite will soon entirely handle the line maintenance which is executed in Nouakchott and will assist in coordinating the continued airworthiness and aircraft technical support done by British company MS4 Aircraft Management Group. While AIRTIME (Fleet management module) will make it easier for the airline management team to ensure that the maintenance is conducted following an approved maintenance program based on the Boeing type certificate holder’s recommendations, AIRSTOCK (Inventory and logistic module) will keep control of the global component service providers and of the aircraft components supply in compliance with the EASA/FAA regulations.

In the next coming months ADSoftware’s specialists, a team of experts dedicated to meeting the needs of each individual client, will work closely with Mauritania Airlines International’s technical team to implement AIRPACK Suite at the Nouakchott International Airport maintenance facility. Frederick Ulrich, CEO of ADSoftware is looking forward to start the project “The Maghreb region is a booming area for our solutions. We started in Morocco and Tunisia, where we already have 3 operators using AIRPACK. Our newly signed contract with Mauritania Airlines International confirms that we have well understood the specificities of the region”.

AFRICA CHARTER AIRLINE SELECTS ALKYM TO BECOME PART OF A GROWING CUSTOMER LIST

Shannon Ireland. April, 2012 // Africa Charter Airline and its sister AMO organisation Jet Centre have selected Alkym Management and Control System for Aircraft Maintenance as its preferred software system. This brings the Volartec customer list in Africa to five in a very short space of time.

ACA had gone to the market in a number of different ways to ensure they got the best value proposition for their organisation.  Jonathon Mark, CEO at African Airline Charter explained “We used a number of methods to explore what products were available and the costs involved. This included an external consultant as well our own internal project team. Both worked independently and we planned to examine in greater detail the benefits of both systems they returned to us. When both reports hit my desk the conclusion was the same – Alkym offered the best functionality and did so at a price range that was within our budget.”

ACA and Jet Centre will utilise 14 of the 15 modules / tools that Alkym has to offer and begin with a 10 concurrent user licence to look after its growing fleet. along with

John Barry, VP Business Development with Volartec was delighted to confirm “the growth in our customer list is simply a reflection of offering the customer what they want. Alkym is a very modern system that is tried and tested. It has all the functionality that an airline or MRO require. It integrates all this functionality in an easy to use interface. However we can still deliver this product in a timely fashion and at affordable price. I have said many times in the past 2 years I am pushing at open doors when I have such an offering to present.”

The remote set up of the ACA servers is already complete and our on-site implementation and training project is currently underway in Johannesburg. ACA will have Alkym live within 4 weeks from the project start date with all of the aircraft loaded and under control of the system.

Initiation and first deliveries of latest version PPS8

In April 2012, Air Support announced that their Preflight Planning System PPS has been further developed with PPS8 (Windows version) using brand new WPF technology for even greater screen clarity. A few selected customers have received an initial release of this latest version of PPS. Also, the first ‘live’ uploads to CrewBriefing and the firm’s AMEXSY filing system have already been successfully completed.

There will now follow an implementation phase for the new product, during which a few customers at a time will receive PPS8 version in a launch program designed to ensure a smooth transition to the latest system. Implementations will be carefully monitored and, during this period, the Air Support development team will receive feedback from users to continue with a program of bug fixes.

Screenshots of the new developments can be seen here:

ALKYM® ON SITE PROJECT COMPLETE AT HELITRANS

Shannon Ireland. April, 2012 // Volartec today announced the successful conclusion of the on-site project at Helitrans AS in Norway. The Volartec three person project team were on site for six weeks at the main Helitrans base at Trondheim. Helitrans have now Alkym Management & Control System for Aircraft Maintenance deployed and have switched off the incumbent maintenance management software.

The modules deployed in this case were Engineering, Planning, Maintenance Control, Reliability, Inventory, Receiving & Shipping, Purchasing & Repair, Sales, Human Resources and the Production Kiosk.

Lasse Andersen, Director Maintenance with Helitrans was able to testify “that the work ethic shown by the team that came was second to none. That is not to say my own people did not work hard on this because for sure we also had to contribute to make this a success. Making the switch is not easy but we were ably shown the best practices to get there. Concepts we needed adopted or changes made were never seen as obstacles. They were taken as improvements and solutions found.”

The next phase will see Helitrans being supported remotely to make the transition as smooth as possible. The Volartec support service is designed to ensure we are prepared to make the first weeks as helpful to the newer customers as possible.

John Barry, VP Business Development with Volartec greeted the end of this phase of the relationship by highlighting “that switching from one system to another is never easy but we strive to ensure our Project Teams take as much of this burden from the operator as is possible. The benefits in the longer term will far outweigh the short term disruption that occurs in the changeover. We are delighted to hear such high praise of our Project Engineers but will always strive to improve on the customer experience. We must learn from every project and adapt to reach even tighter deadlines if the customer needs them.”
