IFS, the Copenhagen based EFB Software Platform SaaS provider, announces that it has signed a contract with Azul Linhas Aéreas based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to implement the Paperless Flight Bag™ from IFS.  Azul operates a modern fleet of 140 aircraft consisting of short-range ATR turboprops, mid-range Embraer regional jets, a comprehensive mid-range and long-range Airbus fleet as well as a B737-400F cargo operation. Azul is Brazil’s largest airline by number of flight departures and the leading domestic operator with more than 110 destinations served as well as serving international non-stop routes to United States, Europe and South America.  The implementation will take place during Q1/Q2-2021

We selected this solution because it copes with our current and future demanding operational requirements. The Paperless Flight Bag will be a cornerstone in our operational set-up and its flexibility secures that we can meet our long term EFB strategy goals. The effective and yet flexible architecture of this software gives Azul the opportunity to bring even more automation into its processes thus reducing the workload for flight crews as well as for ground personnel”, Mr. Captain Guilherme Holtmann, Standards & Training General Manager of Azul said.

The Paperless Flight Bag™ solution to be provided will include full Pre-flight reporting with Fuel Planning and Loadsheet sign-off, In-flight reporting with Electronic Flight Planning module integrated with Azul’s LIDO Flight Planning system output, Post-flight reporting integrated with Azul’s SABRE Scheduling & Crew planning system, as well as seamless integration of the Jeppesen MFD Pro Chart Viewer application, which will provide the crew with a uniform and interconnected workflow. The solution includes the advanced Back-Office System which powers the EFB Platform, centralizes all data flows and controls data import/export to back-end systems and manages status of all individual and aircraft deployed EFB units.

IFS is honoured to be selected by Azul Linhas Aéreas for this EFB software platform project and is looking forward to finalizing the implementation together with Azul during Q2-2021. By selecting the Paperless Flight Bag™ Azul will get a highly customized application solution and a centralized business intelligence tool, which can cover all present and future requirements. The choice indicates that IFS offers the right combination of product solutions, advanced technology, seamless integration and the highest cost/benefit levels in the market”says Jens Pisarski, CCO of IFS.
