Flatirons Extends Its Solution Scope To Flight Operations With The Acquisition Of Techpubs, Inc.’s Suite Of Software Solutions

Irvine, California (USA) – Flatirons Solutions®, a global provider of technical information management solutions for knowledge-driven industries that include aviation, shipping, rail, energy, and defense, announced today the acquisition of TechPubs, Inc.’s TechSuite software solutions for Flight Operations and company manuals. The acquisition of TechSuite extends Flatirons’ CORENA Suite to provide comprehensive coverage of aviation technical publishing.

TechSuite, the leading OEM-independent Flight Operations solution in terms of both functional capabilities and market adoption, was an ideal choice for Flatirons to address its customers’ needs. The acquisition is the latest step in Flatirons’ strategy to extend its position as the de facto standard for OEM-independent technical publishing. The purchase also enhances the capabilities of the Flatirons organization, which counts seven of the world’s top ten largest airlines as current customers.

With the addition of TechSuite, the Flatirons Fleet Solution will gain increased support for emerging Flight Operations specifications like Spec 2300, in addition to current coverage of maintenance-related industry standards. Beyond supporting manuals used by pilots and flight crews, the solution is also used by tens of thousands of flight attendants, ground, ramp, and cabin crew members worldwide. The solution provides Flatirons with the the unique capability of delivering comprehensive coverage of all of the technical content used by airline operators to maintain, repair, and operate their complex aircraft assets.

“We’re thrilled to bring TechPubs Global into the Flatirons family,” said Flatirons’ President and CEO Geoffrey Godet. “Our combined team can now provide a level of solution coverage for technical information management to airlines and manufacturers that’s unmatched in the industry, which translates to unprecedented value to our customers.”

TechPubs Global President and CEO David Williams noted that the global footprint of Flatirons Solutions would be a key benefit of the transaction for current customers and new adopters moving forward. “Flatirons has expanding offices in Chennai, Shanghai, and Dubai. Combined with sites in North America and Europe, this round-the-globe, round-the-clock coverage means responsive local support for our customers and partners.”

Flatirons recently held a Flight Ops User Forum in Chicago. Current and prospective TechSuite customers discussed requirements that will inform the long-term roadmap for TechSuite as it becomes more closely integrated with Flatirons’ CORENA Suite of software solutions.
