This Webinar is for airlines and aircraft operators only
Register to view this On-Demand webinar (recorded 9th September 2021) to see the latest advances in digital and automated tail-specific aircraft performance monitoring (APM) powered by Artificial Intelligence, with a demo of AdvancedAPM from StorkJet. As you will see, AdvancedAPM provides airlines of all sizes and fleet types with the software to precisely monitor performance for each flight and to analyse the root cause of performance degradation to reduce fuel burn through repairs. Using powerful analysis airlines can determine precise Performance Factors for each aircraft allowing for accurate fuel planning, tail assignment, safe reduction in contingency fuel as well as speed and altitude optimization for optimum fuel burn. Additionally, as you will see, AdvancedAPM provides further insights into aircraft performance by including: airframe and engine diagnostics, Idle Factor, thrust reduction reports leading to savings on engine maintenance costs, aerodynamic gross weight error, and more.
The Webinar begins with StorkJet experts looking at the traditional challenges in aircraft performance monitoring, where time-consuming complex data processing is done with different solutions for varied aircraft types. As you will see AdvancedAPM automates the process into one solution for all aircraft types using real flight data (QAR/FDR), with 80+ engine, airframe and air data sensor parameters. Next, you will be taken on a tour of the solution using real-world use cases from using precise performance factors, to optimize the flight planning system and FMS, to calculating Idle Factor in an Airbus fleet to optimize FMS top of descent point position and vertical path, and more. Finally, the Webinar will end with StorkJet performance experts outlining the most common errors airlines make when setting up the APM process (for example: different fuel level heating values across different systems), and how to overcome these problems.
The Webinar is divided into 5 key sections:
1. Introduction of StorkJet and clarification of key Challenges in APM:
Working together with low-cost operators as well as with traditional, legacy carriers StorkJet noticed the same challenges in traditional APM processes:
- Traditional processes are not precise because of the small number of inputs, the output is less accurate making fuel burn prediction error bigger. The degradation factors jump from month to month even by 1%.
- It is too complex, just processing the data can be a challenge.
- Various tools and data sources are required to handle APM for different aircraft types in the fleet.
Through an overview of the platform, you will see how AdvancedAPM addresses all these challenges.
2. AdvancedAPM Demo 1: Precise performance factors for Flight Planning System and FMS
The goal of Aircraft Performance Monitoring is to know the up-to-date performance of each aircraft in the fleet to plan and execute flights in an optimum way and, as a result, reduce the fuel burn. In this point you will see how Performance Factors or Degradation Factors are used in multiple systems, including FMS and Flight Planning System. Precise Performance Factors are crucial for accurate fuel planning, tail assignment and safe reduction of contingency fuel as well as speed and altitude optimization.
3. AdvancedAPM Demo 2: Extended diagnostic capabilities
Next, you will see how based on QAR/FDR data, airlines can spot in an easy way any unusual cases which might lead to performance deterioration. You will see how airlines can be automatically notified when a change in parameters occurs, like aileron deflection, air data sensors failure, etc. The engine parameters depend on weather and operational conditions. You will see how Machine Learning can be used to check how engines would behave if every flight would be performed in the same conditions.
4. AdvancedAPM Demo 3: Idle Factor for Airbus fleet
In this example you will see how airlines optimize the descent phase of the flight. The FMS Idle Factor is dedicated to the calculation of idle descent segments. Accurate Idle Factor optimizes FMS Top of Descent point position and vertical path.
5. AdvancedAPM Demo 4: Take-off and Climb thrust reduction, Gross Weight Error
Finally, you will see how AdvancedAPM allows airlines to monitor various parameters not directly related to aircraft deterioration. You will see how monitoring of take-off and climb thrust reduction can lead to lower engine maintenance cost, and how calculation of aerodynamic Gross Weight can help with testing assumed statistical passengers’ weights used for load sheets preparation.
About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:
Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor. These sessions represent the perfect opportunity to learn about a software solution in a more informal manner and to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of all the major systems on the market, all from the comfort of your own office or home with no sales pressure.
The IT vendor provides a live software demonstration/masterclass of their solution and explains how it can benefit airlines, MROs, Operators, OEMs, Leasing Companies. Once logged on, online delegates can ask questions via the interactive sections of the Webinar or simply sit back and watch and listen to the demonstration. There are two sessions during the day, each differently times to accommodate all time zones.
Each Webinar session is recorded, and an On-Demand version is then posted back to the Aircraft IT website a few days after the live session to allow you to view the content again with your colleagues. The library of On-Demand Webinar recordings provides an invaluable reference source of MRO software demonstrations from the World’s leading Flight Operations IT Vendors.
