Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 16th February 2023) to see the latest developments in Digital Twin technology for aviation with a demo of Digital FinTwin® (Financial Twin), the new Data Science as a Service (DSaaS) solution from KeepFlying® for modelling aircraft and engine maintenance costs, hangar and shop visit scenarios, capacity planning, optimizing work scope and task cards, and more. As you will see, FinTwin® interfaces with and draws data from the MRO / M&E System, as well as other digital sources of maintenance, airworthiness and operational data (mainly scanned PDFs). AI/ML techniques are then applied to the Data; providing airlines, lessors and MRO facilities with the tools needed to generate aircraft, engine or component specific what-if-simulations to model future scenarios. You will see how Digital FinTwin® uses an advanced data management platform (SpXchange™) utilizing Explainable AI and ATA Specifications to ‘wrangle’ data from different sources and in different formats for full integration and integrity, and to facilitate the seamless exchange of data within the maintenance ecosystem, such as for lease returns, or check returns, etc. During the Webinar you will see how SpXchange™ can be used to analyse and optimize task card revisions potentially savings 100s of man-hours.
KeepFlying® experts will then demo two FinTwin®solutions. Firstly, you will see the FinTwin® Aircraft or Engine Owner / Lessor Edition which generates scenarios used to maximize the revenue potential of and mitigate potential risks to an Asset over its remaining Useful Life (RUL). For example, what will happen if maintenance checks are reduced, or the aircraft is flown at a higher thrust rating, or in a more corrosive environment? How will that effect RUL, as well as impact key factors such as LLPs, maintenance reserves, etc. How does this impact redelivery of an Engine given the contractual redelivery conditions that the asset needs to comply with? Secondly, you will see the Edition, which allows MRO Facilities to model different hangar and shop visit scenarios ahead of the arrival of the aircraft, engine, or components, such as variations in work scopes and non-routines, and predicting scrap rates of components before he engine or aircraft comes in to shop in order to plan ahead and maximise profitability and reduce turnaround time. Finally, you will see some upcoming developments such as advanced functions to manage complex aircraft and engine redeliveries.
The webinar is split into five sections:
- Overview of KeepFlying® FinTwin®, the concept of Data Wrangling using Explainable AI and how it helps maintain Data Integrity
In the era of Digital Twins, you will initially learn why it is important to build a Digital FinTwin® for Aircraft, Engine and Component Assets, and MRO hangar and shop visits. But prior to doing that, how can advanced Machine Learning techniques automate the process of enhancing the integrity of your underlying data that are stored and managed across different formats – within MIS systems, MS Excel, scanned PDFs, .csv and other formats? Why is it important to build these models specific to each asset type? How does Explainable AI play a role in ’wrangling’ your data consistently?
- Demo 1: Data Wrangling driven ATA Specifications for Data Exchange
In this section, you will see how the ’wrangled’ data is used as a basis to exchange information using ATA Specifications between Lessors, Operators, MROs, Supply Chain vendors.
Key features you will see include:
- ATA Spec2500 User Interface for Records Transfer on the basis of:
– ATA Spec2000 Chapter 16 – Consumption of ARCs
– ATA Spec2000 Chapter 17 – Consumption of eTech Logs
– ATA Spec2000 Chapter 18 – Consumption of Electronic Work Package Data
- Task Card Revision Differencing Engine
- Demo 2: Engine FinTwin® – Lessor or Engine Owner Edition
Next you will see the Engine FinTwin® – Lessor / Aircraft or Engine Owner edition demo focusing on maximizing the revenue potential of an Engine over its Remaining Useful Life (RUL). This edition focuses on tracking the residual life of Engines and Components as a factor of projected usage (Utilization, Environment, & Severity, Stub Loss), and monitoring projected cashflows as a factor of direct maintenance costs, contracts, LLPs, scraps and rentals.
Key features you will see:
- Asset Maintenance Value Manager – Full and Half Life
- LLP Manager
- Maintenance Reserves ManagerShop Visit Forecasts
- Shop Visit Forecasts
- Engine Redelivery Manager
- Demo 3: FinTwin® – Engine and Aircraft MRO Edition
In this section, you will see the FinTwin® – Engine and Aircraft MRO edition demo focusing on how profitability of Engine Shop Visits and Aircraft Hangar Visits can be visualized and maximized prior to Engine / Aircraft arrival in shop using advanced forecasting techniques (configured for each Engine / Aircraft Type) and a Discrete Optimization Planning framework.
Key features you will see:
- Engine Shop Visit Simulation, Aircraft Hangar Visit Simulation
- Impact of Operational Parameters (TSN, CSN, TSLV, CSLV, Rating, Average Min. Thrust Derate, SFC, EGT Margin) on Man Hours forecasting
- Shop / Hangar Visit Cost and Profitability Forecasting
- TAT Risk Management
- Discrete Optimization Planner
- Dynamic Capacity Planner
- Scrap Rate predictions
- An overview of the Tools and Technology used to power the Digital FinTwin® and SpXchange™ platforms and Short-term Roadmap
Finally, you will learn about the tools and technologies that power the Digital FinTwin® and SpXchange™ platforms and hear about upcoming new functions as part of the FinTwin® Asset Owner and MRO Editions including:
- Advanced functions to manage complex redeliveries (Engines and Aircraft)
- Advanced OCR capabilities to read a wider range of forms, files to semi-automate slot sale / shop visit simulations in the system
About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:
Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor. These sessions represent the perfect opportunity to learn about a software solution in a more informal manner and to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of all the major systems on the market, all from the comfort of your own office or home with no sales pressure.
The IT vendor provides a live software demonstration/masterclass of their solution and explains how it can benefit airlines, MROs, Operators, OEMs, Leasing Companies. Once logged on, online delegates can ask questions via the interactive sections of the Webinar or simply sit back and watch and listen to the demonstration. There are two sessions during the day, each differently times to accommodate all time zones.
Each Webinar session is recorded, and an On-Demand version is then posted back to the Aircraft IT website a few days after the live session to allow you to view the content again with your colleagues. The library of On-Demand Webinar recordings provides an invaluable reference source of Flight Operations software demonstrations from the World’s leading Flight Operations IT Vendors.
