Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 24th September 2020) for an excellent chance to see the latest advances in real-time weather information technology, tailored specifically for each flight, with a demo and full overview of the EFB Weather App: proFLIGHT, from AVTECH. During the Webinar you will see how proFLIGHT is derived from aviation’s leading Met Office High-Resolution Global Weather model, with integrated IATA Turbulence Aware data to provide pilots with a multi-layered, highly accurate real-time weather and flight path optimization solution which can be updated at any time during flight preparation or in flight. As you will see with this information at their fingertips, pilots can be better prepared for their flights, and passengers can be assured of a more timely and comfortable flying experience. You will also see, via a Norwegian case study, how the App can assist airlines to reduce fuel burn and emissions.
As you will see proFLIGHT offers, in real time, all required weather related information, from significant weather charts, SIGMETS and station information, derived from 10K high resolution weather such as turbulence and winds along the flight plan route, letting pilots track bad weather and decide whether to re-route the flight or optimize trajectory based on winds. If Turbulence is encountered, the crew have the best information possible for the climb / descent decision. As you will see, proFLIGHT utilizes existing aircraft hardware and data communications, making it suitable for all airlines and aircraft operators to access highly accurate weather forecasts, and can be used offline and online.
The Webinar is divided into three key sections:
- AVTECH and proFLIGHT Introduction; Norwegian Fuel and Emissions Savings Case Study:
The Webinar begins with a brief overview of AVTECH and their product line, before an in-depth look at the proFLIGHT EFB App. You will see how patented algorithms extract the best possible high-resolution weather information (data is usually too large to utilize), and how this is combined with real-time weather measured data from IATA’s Turbulence Aware Program. You will also see how optimizer can assist airlines and operators to reduce fuel burn and emissions via a Norwegian case study.
- Met-Office High-Resolution Weather Forecasts and IATA Turbulence Aware Program:
Next the Met-Office and IATA will showcase their solutions. You will learn how the Met Office 10KM High- Resolution Global Weather model provides the most accurate, unique and valuable global aviation forecasts available. IATA will then outline their Turbulence Aware Program which when combined in proFLIGHT provides the real-time data to verify the Met-Office high-resolution forecasts, providing pilots with the most accurate and valuable weather solution available.
- Pilot proFLIGHT App Demo for a Typical Flight:
Finally, you will be taken on a full proFLIGHT demo from a pilot’s perspective for a typical flight. You will see how pilots navigate the App’s graphically optimized view providing live and tailored flight weather information, as well as standard aviation weather reports and the information provided in the briefing package. You will see how pilots can plan the most efficient route to avoid dynamic weather and how to optimize climb and descent to reduce fuel burn and emissions or avoid turbulence.
About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:
Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor. These sessions represent the perfect opportunity to learn about a software solution in a more informal manner and to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of all the major systems on the market, all from the comfort of your own office or home with no sales pressure.
The IT vendor provides a live software demonstration/masterclass of their solution and explains how it can benefit airlines, MROs, Operators, OEMs, Leasing Companies. Once logged on, online delegates can ask questions via the interactive sections of the Webinar or simply sit back and watch and listen to the demonstration. There are two sessions during the day, each differently times to accommodate all time zones.
Each Webinar session is recorded, and an On-Demand version is then posted back to the Aircraft IT website a few days after the live session to allow you to view the content again with your colleagues. The library of On-Demand Webinar recordings provides an invaluable reference source of MRO software demonstrations from the World’s leading Flight Operations IT Vendors.
