Register to view this On-Demand Webinar (recorded 30th January 2020) for an excellent chance to see a demo and full overview of the EFB Weather Data and Flight Profile Optimization App from AVTECH: proFLIGHT. During the Webinar you will see how proFLIGHT provides airlines with a cloud-based pilot-centric App offering in real time all required weather related information, from significant weather charts, SIGMETS and station information, to tailored 10K high resolution weather such as turbulence and winds along the flight plan route, letting pilots track bad weather and decide whether to re-route the flight or optimize trajectory based on winds. If Turbulence is encountered, the crew have the best information possible for the climb / descent decision. As you will see, proFLIGHT utilizes existing aircraft hardware and data communications, making it suitable for all airlines and aircraft operators to access highly accurate weather forecasts, and can be used offline and online.
During the Webinar the AVTECH experts will walk through the solution’s key features and benefits. You will see how proFLIGHT is powered by Met Office’s 10KM resolution weather forecast; AVTECH services SIGMA (for avoiding hazardous weather) and NOWCAST (high resolution wind up-links); and live IATA Turbulence Aware Data, to provide pilots with a multi-source, highly accurate real-time weather solution and flight path optimization. With this information pilots can be better prepared for their flights, and passengers can be assured of a more timely and comfortable flying experience. It will also help to reduce fuel burn and emissions
The Webinar is divided into three key sections:
- Challenges facing Pilots to access Weather Information and the Data they need
The Webinar begins with AVTECH experts outlining the challenges facing pilots today and the limtitations in accessing real-time weather data, as well as outlining what weather information pilots actually need. You will then see the importance of having accurate and updated forecasts along with the value high-resolution weather forecasts provided.
- proFLIGHT Demo – Pilot’s Walkthrough of EFB Weather App
Next you will see how pilot’s navigate the App’s graphically optimized view providing live and tailored flight weather information, as well as standard aviation weather reports and the information provided in the briefing package. You will see how pilots can plan the most efficient route to avoid dynamic weather and how to optimize climb and descent to reduce fuel burn and emissions. The demo will also showcase additional features such as how to search and activate your flight plan by ICAO call sign or create your own flight plan.
- Connectivity Options – How proFLIGHT is used both online and offline
Finally, you will see how the App is suitable for all airlines and aircraft operators. It utilizes a range of connectivity solutions and can be used both online and offline.
About the Aircraft IT Webinar Series:
Every 2 weeks the Aircraft IT website hosts a different live Webinar, each Webinar hosted by a different IT Vendor.
